Library of Special Effect

The studio will argue that the current and future role of a Library lies in its ability to move beyond its historically inert condition to actively facilitate the production of knowledge. The Library will behave as a dynamic agent in this operation through the protocols of Search wherein multiple sets of "micro-events" or "episodic scripts" will be deployed. The goal of these Search Protocols is to be non-linear, in fluex and subject to the feeback loop that idea generation aspires to produce.

A series of study models was the beginning of exercise to explore different types of space in three dimension. It was made in physically and digitally.

Conducted site survey at China Town, New York City. Produced a sketch of the site, analyzing the pedestrian's circulation during different time and day, sun movement, and surroundings. Designed the library in Rhinoceros based on the analysis.
The library is organized by three zones whose spatial and circulatory properties relate to each other through a scalar logic. This logic governs the programatic content of each zone, the spatial transitions between zones and the Search Protocols that dictate occupation. Uses v-ray rendering and photoshop.
The sections and plans are done in AutoCAD, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
